February 4th Devotion—Day 35

Verse (Romans 8:15, NKJV)

“For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.’”

Reflection:

Fear used to be a familiar companion in my walk with God. Fear of getting it wrong. Fear of losing closeness. Fear of falling short. But this verse makes something very clear: fear is not the spirit I received. I received the Spirit of adoption. I belong. The Holy Spirit within me continually draws my heart back to the Father, not as a slave, but as a son. When fear tries to speak, adoption answers louder. I no longer approach God trying to earn my place. I come to Him because I have one. From that place, freedom grows and confidence follows.

Prayer:

Thank You, Holy Spirit, for reminding us we are not slaves—we are sons and daughters of the King.

Decree

Fear is cast out; adoption defines us.
