Peace to men...
The world is definitely lacking peace. Disease means “lack of ease” or “lack of peace.” Disease is on the increase around the world. It’s also the lack of peace within the body. Sickness is a sign of a lack of peace, a body not at ease.
I have wrestled with certain “issues” as I get older. As these issues began arise, my mind would begin to go wild. Is it cancer? Do I have an ulcer? Am I having a heart attack? Anything and everything my mind would wildly jump to. Each and every time I was checked out the answer was no. I’d be diagnosed with acid reflux or some other thing.
But here’s the big issue. My Spirit was not at peace. It was not at ease, because my first thoughts were the sickness, disease! Why? Because there is so much around me I would logic, “It’s just a matter of time. I’m a ticking time bomb as everyone else!”
The same thing with emotional issues. So often I worry and think the worst of relationships and situations in my life. My mind seems constantly at dis-ease from circumstances, either something I’ve done to someone or something they’ve done to me.
Jesus was born to reveal to us truth and how life works. John called the baby Jesus the Word (1 John 1:1-4). The word reveals truth. And His Word reveals that mankind does not have to be sick and diseased. God has promised to protect through favor the one who believes His proclamations that He has given for our health.
I have learned that through faith in “His Word” God shields me with His mighty power that constantly guards me (from all worldly threats) until my full salvation is ready to be revealed! 1 Peter 1:5
This is why The Word, Jesus, came. To bring peace to earth. But the stipulation to receive that peace is that it is on whom His favor rests.
Favor means to be pleased with. The Word tells us it’s impossible to please Him without faith (Hebrews 11:6).
As you celebrate Christmas remember to activate His favor by having faith in His Word. Believe it! Leave your 5 senses (what you see, hear, taste, feel, and smell in real life) out of the Bible. Only take your sixth sense, Faith! And then believe what the Word says about your situation!
Then, and only then, will you truly avoid dis-ease and experience the peace He came to deliver.
