This is an incredibly important portion of scripture!
“After the sufferings of his cross, Jesus appeared alive many times to these same apostles over a forty-day period, proving to them with many convincing signs that he had been resurrected. During these encounters, he taught them the truths of God’s kingdom.”
Acts 1:3 TPT
As you meditate on this scripture, it will start to come alive. Jesus is alive! Everything He has taught us is true. And every day, for forty days, after raising from the dead, he taught hundreds about the Kingdom of God.
They thought He would then reinstate His Kingdom on earth. But Jesus said “No yet!”
Hundreds, if not thousands, saw Him and heard Him before He ascended out of sight. This is what He said before ascending…
“But I promise you this—the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and you will be seized with power. You will be my messengers to Jerusalem, throughout Judea, the distant provinces —even to the remotest places on earth!””
Acts 1:8 TPT
Jesus said that His disciples would be seized with power, and that the message of His Kingdom would be preached to the ends of the earth. He was speaking of every person who would believe in Him, they would take the message of the Kingdom with power to the ends of the earth. At that time those disciples did not take the message of the Kingdom to the ends of the earth. So, it’s up to us to finish the job!
Matthew 24:14 in The Voice Translation says,
“And this good news of God’s kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, a testimony to all people and all nations. Then, beloved, the end, the consummation of all things, will come.”
What is the message? It’s the message of freedom for a world trapped in sin. The power Jesus said He would give to the disciples is the power to free people from sin; free those who are sick, in lack, destitute, addicted, in bondage, suppressed and oppressed, unloved, forgotten, mistreated, abandoned, abused, hopeless, fearful, those who feel like failures.
The news of His Kingdom to be preached to all nations before the end of things is this…
Freedom! The freedom to experience life abundantly, to its fullest (John 10:10)! To experience health, wholeness, prosperity, to feel loved, wanted, needed, empowered to live victoriously, loosed from addictions, bondage, abuse, and empowerment to be hope filled, optimistic, victorious! This is life in the Kingdom of God!
And you’re invited to experience His Kingdom.
Are you tired of the world’s hate, oppression, and control over your life? Are you hungering and thirsting for more?
It’s found in His Kingdom. He’s alive, well, and overseeing it. It’s all yours for the taking by faith!
The power is available to you to be set free.
Receive it!
Lord, I receive your Holy Spirit and power right now to free me from my sin, and to receive the blessings of your Kingdom now in my life. Through your death and resurrection, you have given me your Kingdom. I receive it, know and believe it through faith! Thank you for preparing me for your Kingdom that is to come and rule the earth! In Jesus Name, Amen.
