His Character Is Revealed

“”For I, Yahweh, say to you who were once called ‘Outcast,’ I will heal your wounds. And to you who were once called ‘Forgotten Zion,’ I will restore your health.” Yahweh says: “See, I will restore the fortunes of the tents of Jacob and have compassion on his families. The city will be rebuilt on its mound with the city fortress in its rightful place. Out of them will be heard the joyous songs of thanksgiving and the raucous shouts of joy. I will cause them to flourish and not diminish. I will bring them honor, and they will not be humiliated. Their descendants will be just like they were before. Their community will be fixed firmly before me, and I shall punish all their oppressors. Their majestic prince will be one of their own. Their ruler will arise from among them, and I will give him free and easy access to me. For who is he who will pledge his heart to remain close to me?” Yahweh asks. “You will be my very own people, and I shall be your very own God.”” Jeremiah‬ ‭30‬:‭17‬-‭22‬ ‭TPT‬‬

There was a time when I believed that God’s promises were meant only for the specific people He spoke to in Scripture—Abraham, Moses, Israel—but then I began to truly understand the heart of God. He is not a respecter of persons (Acts 10:34), and His character never changes (Hebrews 13:8). His promises reflect who He is—faithful, loving, and eternal. They are not locked in the past or reserved for a chosen few. They are alive and available to anyone willing to step into His Kingdom by faith.

Take God’s promise to Abraham, that all nations would be blessed through him (Genesis 12:3). At first, I thought it was just for Abraham’s descendants. Then I read Galatians 3:29, which revealed that because I belong to Christ, I’m an heir to that same promise. Or consider His words to Israel in Jeremiah 29:11, “I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you.” Those plans weren’t just for them; they show God’s heart for all His children—His plans include me.

The more I’ve embraced His Kingdom, the more I’ve realized that His Word is alive and personal. Romans 15:4 says everything written in Scripture is meant to give us endurance, encouragement, and hope. These promises aren’t ancient relics; they’re living truths that anchor me in His love and power today.

If you’ve ever felt like God’s promises were for someone else, I want to invite you to see them differently. Step into His Kingdom. As His child, His promises are your inheritance. The same God who spoke to Abraham, Moses, and David speaks to you. His love, provision, and faithfulness are for you. Open His Word, claim His promises, and watch how His faithfulness transforms your life—just as it has mine.
